Engine Compartment

In addition to the construction of real front-end sections to support and document the progress of developments in the engine compartment, IAV also makes use of so-called "synthetic front-end sections".

This provides a communication platform for interdisciplinary cooperation. Presentations are photo-realistic and are thus not only accessible to design engineers. Meetings about the front-end section can then be held at a very early stage of the project using large visual displays.

Fields of activity include:

• Design investigations of options for inserting the engine
• unit: the "installation matrix"
• Checking for constraints, e.g. forbidden geometries or
• kinematics
• Stationary kinematic curves of engine unit in engine
• compartment
• Development of package solutions from design stage
• through to production
• Construction and maintenance of front-end sections
