Whether passenger car, commercial vehicle, agricultural machinery, motorcycle or fork-lift truck: We’re always at your side in engineering the cockpit electronics – from the initial concept, developing the hardware and software right through to the production-ready vehicle. Our experts take care of the instrument panel, radio and navigation system and also attend to integrating consumer-electronic devices, like iPod or smart phone. We develop software for new functions, ergonomic user interfaces and hardware components. On behalf of our clients, we oversee the vendors involved and prepare the ground for acceptance inspection in the overall vehicle. Early tests with the “Test Director” management system together with automatic measurement data logging and evaluation using our own “AMeDa” system make sure the procedures of development and integration run through with clockwork precision.
New display technologies and business models
Even today, our attention is also focusing on the trends that will change the cockpit of tomorrow. In future, for instance, instrument panel and head-up unit will increasingly merge to show the driver relevant information on a single large display. In a few cases, pixel-graphic displays are already replacing the classic pointer-type instruments on the instrument panel. In addition, drivers will use a smart phone to retrieve more and more information from their vehicle – on distances traveled or fuel consumption, for example. On the after-sales side, “software as a product” is opening up new business models for the manufacturer: This is where we can provide you with support in developing new functions that will further integrate the newly purchased vehicle into the owner’s personal infrastructure.
