Berlin. Hybrid technology and electric mobility remain very fast growing development fields in the automotive industry. As a leading engineering partner in this domain and in cooperation with ITS Niedersachsen, IAV is extending an invitation to the 10th Symposium on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles which, with talks from high-caliber speakers, is set to provide an exciting and interesting program for the many experts who will be attending. The symposium is taking place on February 13 and 14 in Braunschweig Civic Hall. Symposium highlight is the traditional driving event at IAV’s Gifhorn operation.

Berlin. IAV is holding the first international conference on “Ignition Systems for Gasoline Engines” in Berlin on November 12 and 13. Attention will be centering on the question of whether the classic spark plug needs to be replaced with alternative systems in tomorrow’s gasoline engines. Experts from manufacturers, component suppliers and research will be providing a glimpse at the latest progress being made by the developers.

Berlin – IAV will be present at the 21st Aachen Colloquium on Vehicle and Engine Technology (October 8 to 10, 2012) with three exhibits: The company’s booth is showing a highly integrated powertrain unit for electric vehicles, an innovative gasoline engine with cylinder activation and an HiL environment that IAV has developed. In a report, Berlin University of Technology will be presenting the results of an FVV (Combustion Engine Research Association) project conducted in cooperation with Magdeburg Otto-von-Guericke University and IAV and focusing on a noise-controlled diesel engine.

Berlin – At its 9th “Automotive Powertrain Control Systems” symposium, IAV is teaming up with carmakers and component suppliers to show what defines the latest control systems for the modern powertrain. Interactive highlight at the conference is the driving event that will be presenting exciting drive concepts in electric, hybrid and combustion-engined vehicles. Participants will be given the opportunity on the apron of Berlin's Tempelhof Airport to find out what the new models are like to drive.

Berlin – IAV is extending its activities in Chemnitz and will be opening a new development center in 2014. This will give the company a basis for further growth. Costing around € 30 million, the project is set to start in August 2012. When the first construction phase is completed, the development center will create around 150 additional jobs.

Since opening in 2002, IAV’s Munich Development Center has never stopped growing. Business in engine development and calibration has seen huge expansion over the years, with projects in the fields of vehicle development and safety growing all the time. The center currently has an area of 5000 m² to handle its development projects on.

Berlin-based automotive development partner IAV is supporting “Formula Student Germany” this year too. On the Hockenheim racetrack, 110 student teams from 25 countries will be presenting racing cars they have developed and built themselves (from 31 July to 5 August 2012).

Electromobility is a subject that is dominating the automotive scene as never before. IAV is one of the leading development partners in this increasingly important domain. The engineering company is once again expecting high-profile speakers at the ninth international Symposium on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in Braunschweig Civic Hall on 14 and 15 February.

IAV agreed with the worlds largest semiconductor manufacturer Intel to extend the world-wide unique series of the Car Communication Terminal "TeleDrive®".

IAV has officially announced the expansion of its US subsidiary and the move from Ann Arbor to Northville Township, MI. The expansion will include engine dynamometers for gasoline, hybrid and diesel projects (including heavy-duty). The announcement was made during the SAE World Congress in Detroit, where Governor Granholm visited IAV's booth to learn more about the company and the expansion plans.
