Looking back on a tradition spanning almost 70 years at the Chemnitz operation, the Base Engine Development division today provides all engineering services from the development of entire, modern diesel and spark-ignition engines to developing derivatives and optimizing assemblies.

In addition to integrated development processes geared toward the particular functional system concerned, the team at Chemnitz also uses cutting-edge tools and test equipment. It takes charge of systematically managing and optimizing the various steps involved in virtual product development and provides its own design and process monitoring tools.
