Vehicle Development

It's a long journey from the idea to start of production. IAV has been treading this path successfully for 25 years. Our vehicle development engineers master all the process stages involved: study and concept, computation and design, testing and prototype construction.

The vehicle development business area is a shining example of IAV's expertise in the overall vehicle. The interaction between concept definition, layout and computation distinguishes the multiple-track approach to the work we do in this field.

For the vehicle exterior, we develop design-specific components, such as doors and lids. The structural body components place the most exacting of demands on functionality and safety. On the vehicle interior side, we provide everything from all-embracing cockpit development to innovative detail solutions, e.g. for seat systems.

All components developed must demonstrate their suitability in the overall vehicle. To ensure that they do, we analyze vibration, examine acoustics, measure ride comfort, test endurance and conduct impact tests. Because only when optimum component interaction is given can the perfect vehicle be produced.
