Hamburg University of Applied Sciences Professors and Students tour of IAV Automotive Engineering

09/09/2011 // IAV’s growth in North America has piqued curiosity and interest from across the ocean.

A group of 24 Professors and students from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences eagerly visited IAV’s Technical Center in Northville, MI on September 12, 2011. They received a thorough tour of IAV’s engineering center, and the engine testing facilities which include 4 dynamometers with emissions measurement capabilities.

Several students within this group are studying the latest technologies with an emphasis on studio engineering. Hamburg University is the only European university where this program is available. Other students are in the international engineering studies program, and came to IAV to receive what they referred to as a “global education”.

Prof. Werner Granzeier, Professor of the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, oversees the Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering department. “We truly enjoyed our visit and informative tour of IAV. The expertise and energy among the people is evident,” Granzeier stated with enthusiasm.

For IAV, it was a compliment to have such a large group travel so far to inquire about the new innovations and growth strategy that we are developing.
