At the biennial InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin on 24–27 September, IAV will be presenting innovations for the first time at its own stand (no. 680) in hall 20 of the Berlin exhibition center. The topic of security in various forms is of particular importance.
The growing threat of cyberattacks on vehicles will be demonstrated by means of a racetrack where IAV hacks the controls of the models driven by trade fair visitors. Our experts will show how state-of-the-art cyber security measures can be seamlessly integrated into railway systems.
No less interesting is a forgotten object detector that uses a camera-based system to detect objects left behind, assign them to their owners and alert them to their loss – a technology that is perfect for use at railway stations or directly on trains.
IAV is also involved in a federal funding project to test fully automated railway operations. One sub-project of the funding program deals with the adaptation of diagnostics from the automotive industry to the rail sector.
Finally, IAV is focusing on health monitoring, in which state-of-the-art sensor technology detects faulty components as required. Maintenance plans, for example in the area of asset management, can be optimized with the help of this technology, thus saving costs.
