    IAV is currently seeking a Functional Safety Engineer at our North American Headquarters in Northville, Michigan. This position allows the opportunity to work with experts in the industry to take designs from concept through production. This includes developing the embedded software that controls and optimizes hardware for functional domains in the powertrain and vehicle such as driver assistance systems, battery management systems, motor controllers, body electronics systems, vehicle charging systems, etc. This position will support internal projects and work as a member of a team representing IAV on projects with external customers covering a wide range of applications. This also includes considering implementing requirements from a technical safety concept depending on the provided hardware platform.


    Essential Responsibilities & Activities:

    The Functional Safety Engineer support a project team to achieve compliance to IS 26262. The main objectives include:

    • Performing a Functional Safety Assessment

    • Deriving Technical Safety Concept and Requirement

    • Performing an FTA, FMEA and FMEDA

    • Deriving Hardware and Software Safety Concepts

    • Perform an ASIL Decomposition

    • Present project state to management

    IAV is currently seeking a PUMA Technician at our North American Headquarters in Northville, Michigan.

     

    IAV typically runs a 2 shift 5 days/week operation, Shift assignments may change and may occasionally include 3rd shift and weekends as project demands.

     

    Responsibilities for the position are as follows:

    • Act a lead contact for technical help for test cells running in a 24/7 environment

    • Assist in the specifications and design of futuretest and automation system equipment needs

    • Must conduct and oversee service requests and orders to suppliers

    • Must be proactive in supporting continuous improvements and improving efficiency

    • Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing Puma-related hardware and software

    • Will work towards standardization in the test cell environment

    • Work with Supervisor, Manager, and Director to achieve company goals and objectives

    • Maintains technical department files (e.g. instrumentation lists, manuals, how to’s).

    • Coordinates with test cells customers to ensure timely calibration and/or preventative maintenance of instruments and equipment.

    • Notifies Test Operations supervisors and management when any instrument/equipment is nonconforming and follows up to ensure a timely response to the issue.

    • Provide training as needed and consultant for scripting activities

    • Responsible for project Puma setup for new projects

    • Maintain AVL Host and provide routine maintenance

    • Support standardization and optimization of loadsets and configuration files.

    • Responsible for project set-up activities including limits, channel lists, IO configuration and PID tuning
