A Journey Towards Digital Mobility

      A Journey Towards Digital Mobility

Also in 2019 IAV will once more be presenting ist vision of the future of digital mobility.

Our vision for tomorrow’s digital mobility is taking shape

Connectivity and autonomous driving are two of the greatest driving forces behind future mobility. They will play a major role in defining how we move about in future. Increasingly, driving itself will no longer be the key task. Vehicle occupants become passengers, vehicles become means of transport and driving pleasure will take on completely new connotations. The whole automotive industry is facing a revolutionary paradigm shift.

Usability, comfort and what to do during the journey are aspects that are growing increasingly important and will play a crucial role in terms of the success of future mobility services. Entertainment, service and safety are the key pillars. It goes without saying that IAV is forging ahead with the development of future mobility in all its facets in order to present our customers with bespoke solutions.

IAV will be presenting a selection of the latest developments at the CES 2019 in Las Vegas. We’ll take you on a fascinating journey towards tomorrow’s digital mobility. Come and joins us.

      Authentication of Vehicle Users

Biometric Authentication: The Driver Is the Key

Smart access: flexible and secure. Automatic locking and starting systems are highly convenient. Access to the vehicle can be granted individually by adding biometric authentication. Smartphones can act as key substitute with scope for individual access rights.

Forgotten your key? That won't happen anymore! Mechanical keys for opening vehicle doors have basically been relegated to the past. Alternatives include radio systems or Keyless Go concepts. But IAV and its partner FaceTec, Inc. are taking things a step forward at the CES when it comes to security and convenience.

The potential vehicle user proceeds with access authentication by means of face recognition using an app. If the system recognizes him as an authorized user, he can use his phone to open and lock the vehicle. In addition to pure access authorization, the driver's own individual settings can also be linked into the authentication process. Personal adjustments to the chassis or position of the car seat, the favorite radio channel or feel-good temperature – the vehicle adjusts directly to the detected driver for greater comfort and convenience right from the start.

A cloud link also makes it possible to set up other individual functions, such as opening the trunk or opening the vehicle without start authorization. This gives garage staff access to all relevant parts of the vehicle when carrying out repairs, or lets the postman put a parcel directly in the trunk while the driver is out jogging.

Biometrics make the system very secure, and not just in the private sector. Personal access authorization solutions are also increasingly relevant for the commercial sector. They offer advantages, for example, in terms of insurance rating. With the assurance that only the authenticated group of vehicle users will actually drive the vehicle, insurance companies can be confident that there will be no unauthorized access. The biometrics app also extends access control possibilities for car-sharing providers.
