    Leipzig. The ABSOLUT innovation and development project was launched today with a kick-off meeting of all project partners at the Congress Center in Leipzig. Project partners include industry, the scientific community, and the City of Leipzig. In the project, the partners will be working closely with the transport companies that have taken over the project management. The core concept of ABSOLUT is to develop highly-automated vehicles and to test them at locally-permitted speeds on a test route from the suburban railway station "Messe" to the BMW works.     World Premiere: IAV Elocity – E-Drive For Commercial Vehicles

    Berlin, At the IAA Commercial Vehicles Motor Show in Hanover (September 20 to 27, 2018), the automotive engineering services provider IAV and electric vehicle retrofitting specialist Tassima are presenting the very first double-decker bus to be converted to the IAV Elocity electric drive. Visitors can watch a 3D augmented and virtual reality demonstration of the IAV Elocity technology inside the vehicle. Once development to the level of manufacturing readiness has been completed, the parts kit will then be available as customized standard product for retrofitting commercial vehicles and for the manufacturers of new vehicles.     IAV has joined the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN e.V.) network. The network wants to establish CCS (Combined Charging System) as the global standard on recharging electric vehicles. Almost all leading OEMs as well as numerous component suppliers and recharging infrastructure manufacturers from Europe, Asia and the US belong to CharIN e.V.
