    Making Wind Turbines More Efficient

    A complete revision of the architecture currently used for controlling wind turbines: this is the approach behind the “eco4wind” research project which is based on a partnership between engineering service provider IAV, as lead partner, and Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg, Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Ruhr University of Bochum and Senvion GmbH.     Heading for the Smart Powertrain

    Berlin. The automotive engineering company IAV offers solutions for low-emission concepts right through to zero-emission driving, for example with state-of-the-art exhaust gas aftertreatment and hybrid systems as well as all-electric drives. Specific examples will be on show at the 38th Vienna Engine Symposium (April 27 and 28, 2017), including an exhaust gas aftertreatment system with new topology, a high-efficiency hybrid drive and the latest generation of IAV's electric drive unit for various powertrain configurations.

    International Standardization: Boost to Electric Mobility

    IAV has joined the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN e.V.) network. The network wants to establish CCS (Combined Charging System) as the global standard on recharging electric vehicles. Almost all leading OEMs as well as numerous component suppliers and recharging infrastructure manufacturers from Europe, Asia and the US belong to CharIN e.V. The network benefits from the experience IAV has gathered from many CCS projects at production level.
