      A Journey Towards Digital Mobility

      Under the banner “A Journey Towards Digital Mobility”, IAV was presenting nine showcases and four demonstrator vehicles at the International Congress on Advances in Automotive Electronics 2017.

      We are currently witnessing the most exciting phase in the history of automotive engineering: vehicles and IT are merging ever more closely. Soon, automobiles will be “always on”, i.e. permanently connected to the internet. As part of the Internet of Things, they will then exchange data with the cloud and mobile devices, permitting completely new services and making everyday routine noticeably easier for users. IAV was taking you on a journey towards the future of mobility at the International Congress on Advances in Automotive Electronics 2017 (June 27–28, 2017 in Ludwigsburg, Germany).

      IAV has a clear vision of tomorrow’s vehicles. We are working on a car that seamlessly connects the digital world with personal mobility. Mobile devices and data from the cloud will match the vehicle to the needs of occupants, create a pleasant atmosphere and make traveling as safe and as comfortable as possible. Join in!

      Data science, Big Data, data analytics – developments towards connected cars are having a great impact on the collection, transmission and analysis of vehicle data. On account of the growing complexity in the vehicle, it is increasingly important to detect errors as early as possible.

      New competitors, from the IT sector in particular, are crowding onto the automotive market; the demand for connectivity solutions is growing, with more focus on customer experience than ever before. To withstand the competition pressure, OEMs and suppliers have to be respond quickly, flexibly and above all proactively to trends and new environmental influences.

      Against this setting of conflicting priorities, developments towards connected cars are also resulting in far more complex communication with the surroundings, with a great impact on the collection, transmission and analysis of vehicle data.

      Real-time data analysis of measured data is a suitable solution for fleet testing and vehicle validation. Here the data are transmitted during the journey, giving the user visualized analyses and a live view of the key vehicle signals. Testing objectives are pursued and monitored with the relevant reports and analyses then being put to direct use.

      Live error tracking is also possible, with a pattern search for troubleshooting in previous measurements. The collected data are used to draw direct conclusions and make a contribution towards future development processes to reduce product creation times.

      Real-time and live data cover a diversity of use cases, such as generating driving profiles or using the vehicle as sensor.
