All users, including you when you visit our website, are entitled to informational self-determination. The Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG) stipulates inalienable rights for users, such as the right to information about and to the correcting, blocking and deleting of their personal and identifiable data.

Children and young people of limited legal capacity may not send any personal data (e.g. in applications) to our websites without the consent of their parents or guardians.

We shall inform you if we collect, process or use your personal data. However, this does not apply if you have disclosed the corresponding data elsewhere on the public domain.

Saved personal data are deleted when the website user revokes our privilege to store such data, if knowledge of such data is no longer needed to fulfill the purpose of storing the data, or if such data storage is inadmissible for any other legal reasons.

You are of course entitled to revoke the use of your data at any time. Please send your written revocation to the IAV Data Protection Officer:

Collecting, Processing and Using Personal Data

As a general rule, collecting, processing and using personal data is only permitted if this is allowed by legal regulations or you have given your consent. Further restrictions may be imposed by the BDSG. For example, it only allows the collecting, processing and use of personal data in the framework of necessity, a narrowly defined purpose and in compliance with the legitimate interests of the person concerned. However, other stipulations may be made in legal regulations that take priority over the BDSG.

Disclosure to Third Parties

We shall not disclose your personal data to people or third parties outside IAV. Similarly, we shall not sell or hire your personal data (address/communication data) to third parties.

Any contact you initiate with us via our website, whether submitting an application under the career section or an enquiry on the corresponding form, will always be encrypted. However, IAV cannot accept any liability for e-mails sent via your respective service provider. When using this form of contact, please ensure that your message is encrypted. Please note that any information that is sent unencrypted is not protected from third-party access.

Once you have registered for the Newsletter and agreed to the use of your data for this purpose, we use your contact details to e-mail you advertising tailored specifically to you (company news, events, product developments, services and industry-related news).

We also create pseudonymized use profiles with regard to e-mails sent by us. To this end, the e-mails we send contain “web beacons” (1x1 pixel image files) that link to our website, enabling us to evaluate user behavior as regards the e-mails.

Under no circumstances are your use profiles merged with your personal data. The pseudonyms are not linked to your personal data (e.g. your e-mail address or your IP address), precluding the possibility of direct personalized tracking of the use profiles. You can object to the creation of use profiles at any time with effect for the future.

Press Mailing List

On request, you can be included in our press mailing list. The data obtained in this process are only saved for this sole purpose.

Customer Magazine automotion

The data obtained for sending our customer magazine automotion are only processed for this sole purpose. If you no longer want to receive the customer magazine, you can unsubscribe the magazine here. Your data will then be deleted immediately from the mailing list.

Web Statistics

We want our website to have a demand-oriented design and are improving it all the time. To this end, we use an analysis tool (PIWIK) for web statistics. The analysis tool examines various factors such as the average time spent on the website, bounce rate or links usage. This analysis is anonymous. Cookies are used to recognize the browser. However, your IP address is made illegible immediately after entry. It is then not possible to retrace the data to individuals or to create personal profiles.

As a visitor to our website, you can of course revoke any data collection and storage at any time for the future.
This ensures that your personal data are then no longer included in IAV's web statistics.

Cookies are saved on your computer when you visit the IAV homepage. These cookies help to make our website more user-friendly. So-called session cookies are used to control navigation according to the chosen language and to manage access to user-protected sections following authentication. These cookies are deleted automatically when you close the browser window.

For the web statistics, we work with stationary cookies that permit identification beyond the immediate browser session.

You can prevent such cookies at any time. To do, select the "Override automatic cookie handling" in your internet explorer. Please note that after taking this decision, you will no longer have access to the user-protected section.
