High Speed and Quality Even in Complex Calibration Projects

Today’s development projects confront calibration engineers with a huge number of project-specific parameters – the software for engine control units, for instance, regularly involves something in the order of 50,000 and more. Despite this tremendous complexity, IAV Macara provides clarity and high speed in the calibration process: The tool makes it possible to compare a large number of DCMs and datasets simultaneously and dynamically, edit and simply copy them by dragging & dropping , compare algorithms, generate graphic displays and export data in common formats.

Comparing datasets and DCMs, the calibrator instantly recognizes the differences and common ground existing between different projects. Various colors show them where specific values, maps or bit masks coincide – e.g. in the datasets for different vehicle derivatives. They can display characteristic curves and compare them in isolation of any specific calibration – e.g. for comparing similar projects with different interpolation points. Boosting efficiency in the calibration process, IAV Macara copies individual labels into new DCMs simply by dragging & dropping them.

Filter Functions for the Maximum Transparency

User-friendly filters make it easy to obtain a clear overview of parameter values: Among other options, you can search for specific label types, such as characteristic value, array or individual words, filter algorithms in an A2L file, display changed values as well as identify label intersections and unions and the symmetrical difference between labels. IAV Macara also lets you generate 2D and 3D displays of parameter values, compare algorithms and A2L system constants as well as export Excel data. The tool can import files in HEX, S19, A2L, DCM and LAB format and write in DCM and LAB format. Views of project files can also be saved.
