Follow-up Report: IT Day
Talking with Computer Science Talents

IT Day took place as a virtual event on 7 May 2020. Initiated by the career network e-fellows, the event was geared towards students and graduates excelling in (industrial) engineering and in their 3rd semester and higher.
The nearly 150 registered participants from all over Germany were able to talk with professional experts from IAV and discuss career opportunities at our company. Our colleagues were impressed with the high caliber of these software talents, in particular with regard to topics like data science and software development in embedded and application systems.
IAV participated in an expert lecture alongside companies like BASF and Capgemini. When discussing the topic of “Engineering 4.0 – Digitalization @ IAV”, Pedro Miguel Isaac Delso spoke about how digitalization, working methods, and powertrain development processes are changing. Because the automotive world is developing ever more quickly during the digital transformation, and this is giving rise to countless challenges in areas like DevOps, software development, and data science.
Pedro himself got to know IAV in 2000 when participating in a technical lab on control engineering at TU Braunschweig. During his time at IAV, he has worked in diverse roles and different locations both in Germany and abroad. He is now a department head at our Ludwigsburg location where he is responsible for the digitalization of engineering processes.
Our conclusion of the event: We were able to take a brand new IAV employee to this year’s event, one who was actually an applicant at the event just last year. That’s a good indicator that we’re able to find the right talents at IT Day. We’re happy to be a part of it!
