IAV Restructures Its Management Team

Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn, hitherto Head of Research and Development at Volkswagen AG, will become Chairman of the Managing Board at the engineering service provider IAV in Berlin with effect from January 1, 2019. Matthias Kratzsch has been Chief Technology Officer at IAV since September 2018.
Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn, currently Head of Research and Development at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, has been appointed Chairman of the Managing Board at IAV with effect from January 1, 2019.
Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn (57) holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering. After starting his career at Ford, he ran Volkswagen’s Group Research from 2000 to 2003. In 2003, he was appointed Director for Technical Development at Bentley, before being appointed as Managing Director of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) in 2012. Eichhorn returned to Volkswagen in 2016 as Head of Research and Development.
His proven automotive expertise and great wealth of experience with several automotive manufacturers in Germany and abroad, combined with his many years of involvement with the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) makes Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn well suited to successfully support IAV in the face of current and future technological challenges for all automotive manufacturers.
Matthias Kratzsch is new Chief Technology Officer at IAV
Matthias Kratzsch has been Chief Technology Officer at IAV since September 2018, after holding this position on an interim basis since January 1, 2018.
Matthias Kratzsch, graduate engineer for automotive engineering, began his career at the Research and Transfer Center of Zwickau University of Applied Sciences (WHZ) and at Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart. He joined IAV in Chemnitz in 1997. His career then took him to Munich as Site Manager in 2002, before moving to Berlin in 2009 as Senior Vice President of the Gasoline Engine Global Market division. From 2013 to 2018, Matthias Kratzsch was Executive Vice President of Powertrain Development and also CEO of the IAV subsidiary Consulting4Drive.
As from January 1, 2019, the new management team at IAV GmbH will now consist of Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn as Chief Executive Officer, Matthias Kratzsch as Chief Technology Officer, Katja Ziegler as Chief Financial Officer and Kai-Stefan Linnenkohl as Chief Human Resources Officer.
