  • Certification and completion of compliance monitorship demonstrate successful establishment of compliance systems and processes
  • Compliance management system simplifies development of new fields and markets

Over the past three years, engineering specialist IAV has taken its risk and compliance management system to the next level. The company has now received a corresponding certification from Frances McLeod. The compliance expert had accompanied IAV since June 2019 as part of a compliance monitorship.

“We set standards among engineering service providers today – especially in technical compliance. This is all the more crucial given that the automotive industry in particular is becoming increasingly fast-paced in the wake of new technologies and regulations. Professional compliance management systems will hence be called for even more strongly in future by legislators and our customers, and rightly so,” says Matthias Kratzsch, CEO of IAV GmbH.

In technical areas, IAV has established effective compliance processes and systems. These include a database that provides staff assistance in interpreting complex regulations. In case of particularly difficult issues and fundamental decisions, employees turn to expert committees for final clarification.

“Our compliance management system supports us particularly where we face the challenge of legal uncertainties when developing new fields and markets. Thus, it is the foundation for our entrepreneurial development into a tech solution provider,” adds Matthias Kratzsch.

The compliance monitorship stems from IAV’s involvement in the diesel scandal. In the course of this, IAV had reached a plea agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) at the end of 2018. It stated that IAV had played a minor role in the offence and had already taken steps to advance its compliance program and auditing processes.
