At its own test centre in Heimsheim near Stuttgart, equipped with modern measuring and testing technology, IAV offers services across the entire EMC development process. The new accredited test centre will be commissioned in spring 2022.

Our climatic roller test bench in Ingolstadt has been meeting the dynamic requirements in automotive development for years and, like the high-altitude climatic roller (HKR) in Berlin, offers the possibility of simulating test drives under extreme conditions.

Altitude Climate Roll Berlin

With the altitude climatic roll, driving in the high mountains up to 5,300 metres can be simulated under appropriate air pressure and temperature conditions – cost-effectively, efficiently and reproducibly. The intelligent coupling of test bench automation and simulation allows the vehicle to be integrated into the simulation in a “closed loop”.

High-voltage composite test bench Stollberg

As the variety of e-models increases, so does the complexity of the various powertrains. IAV’s new high-voltage composite test bench in Chemnitz/Stollberg makes it possible to test HV components individually and in a system network in early development phases – thus creating valuable synergies.

Hydrogen combustion test stand Gifhorn

Hydrogen combustion engines are particularly appealing for heavy commercial vehicles because they open up another path for entry into H2 mobility. Hydrogen combustion is being tested at IAV’s site in Gifhorn, where truck engines weighing up to 7 tonnes can run.
