      Customized Product Solutions

New powertrains, more vehicle derivatives, complex algorithms on control units and ever-tighter emission regulations in conjunction with shorter development cycles in an increasingly digital world: automobile developers are under enormous pressure. This is why development tools are called for today that once again provide scope for creativity: Products from IAV.

IAV is presenting its product solutions at the Automotive Testing Expo from May 21-23.

As an engineering partner, we have been getting innovations into volume production for over 35 years. This has a lot to do with our 7,000 or so first-class developers, but also with the development tools we use in our everyday work. These products assist developers in their challenging daily routine involving all manner of activities in the field of measurement, testing, analysis, layout, simulation and calibration. Throughout the V process, IAV uses the best development tools that are available on the market. And if we cannot find them there, we develop them ourselves – from practitioners for practitioners.

Over the last three decades, this approach has seen the creation of many products that have set new standards. Typical IAV: our products are intuitive to use and come with the built-in expertise of our top developers. This makes it easy for the user to cope with development challenges of any complexity.

Regardless of whether a developer wants to optimize a component or design an entire powertrain, IAV products are at their side throughout projects of any magnitude. No matter how big a development project is: anyone using these IAV tools is just a mouse click away from the knowledge of three decades of automotive engineering development.

Meet IAV at Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2019. We look forward to introducing you to our product solutions and testing equipment.

Testing new technologies or vehicle functions is our daily business. In order to maintain our leading role in this field, we regularly invest in state-of-the-art testing equipment or even set new standards. This know-how also flows into our products for testing - for example with the BackendTestSuite, with which cloud-based driver assistance systems can be tested. This tool will be on display at Testing Expo, as will our solution Vehicle-in-the Loop. We will also be showing the VR simulator Infotainment & Sound.

Our topics at the Testing Expo Europe

Throughout the V process, we use the best development tools on the market. And if they're not on the market, then we develop them ourselves. From developers for developers. An approach that has proven its worth in countless demanding projects. At the Testing Expo, we will be presenting some of our successful products.(...) More

Today, software plays a major role in the everyday work of a development engineer - for example in rating, construction, simulation and calibration. IAV has been a pioneer in this field for more than 35 years. Not surprising therefore that some of the software tools that we have developed are among the best that today's market has to offer.

      Highlight 2019

      IAV Macara

The cost of parameterizing modern vehicles has risen enormously. Modern vehicles have approximately 60,000 control unit parameters. In addition, there are also several hundred vehicle models. IAV Macara not only automates many processes and reduces the number of errors. It also provides a quick overview of data changes, even if many vehicle models are involved. In combination with the intuitive operability of the tool, this leads to significant time savings for recurring tasks.

      Some highlights of IAV Macara:

Multiple dataset comparison: IAV Macara processes all commonly used data and exchange formats. The Paco and CDF formats can also be used for viewing metadata, such as degrees of maturity (scores) and calibration histories. The tool comes with extensive filtering and sorting functions based on comparison status, parameter types, parameter lists (LAB), responsibility matrices (RASIC) and A2L functions.

Viewing the data of individual parameters is user-friendly and done directly from the comparison display. Appearing one below the other, the relevant parameters are visualized in a table for each active dataset, with any differences being color-highlighted. Two different visualization modes make it possible to select a predecessor comparison that clearly displays the history of data changes and hence the calibration history. For viewing multidimensional parameters of different dimension, IAV Macara provides consistent visualization through interpolation or extrapolation and also displays values as differences or factors.

To use different data sources, the relevant datasets can be selected from a central tree structure. This can be done using the fi le system’s folders (local or network) as well as interfaces to the INCA database system or IAV Xingu dataset management system. Efficiency is enhanced by various options for automatically updating different data sources, compressing data and directly downloading data from the interfaced systems.

IAV Macara permits customer-specificas well as generic testing and analytical processes with relevant reporting, for example error lists (Inhibit, MiL masking, X sets etc.), function displays based on A2L definitions, automated plausibility checks and validation of specifc data, automated flash procedures, model codings, automatic display of parameters and measured variables when reviewing software structures and much more. All this reduces the susceptibility to errors and facilitates daily work.
