IAV Cross: High-Performance System for Hydraulic Measurement of Injection Valves

IAV’s proven Injection Analyzer is being renamed, just in time for its 18th birthday: in future it will be sold as “IAV Cross”, clearly reflecting its features. After all, the system permits swift cross-functional analysis of injection systems with real fuels.

IAV Cross characterizes the injection rates of any injectors (for gasoline, diesel, gaseous fuels or AdBlue) using the tube indicator measurement principle. The system measures the injection rate based on the dynamic pressure increase in a fuel-filled measuring port with direct injection from the nozzle. The injected quantity is then calculated from the injection rate. Injection masses can be resolved from 0.2 to 50,000 milligram shot/shot, depending on the unit type.

Besides development and function analysis of injectors, IAV Cross is also suitable for end-of-line measurements in the production process. In future, the unit can be integrated in Industry 4.0 production lines for advance detection of quality problems caused by tool wear, for example. IAV Cross consists of the hydraulic unit, the electronic measurement and control unit in a 19″ housing and the software, which is very easy to handle with clear visualization of all relevant information.
