Opening of the IAV site Heimsheim

The new IAV site in Heimsheim was officially opened on July 4. Hosts Jörg Astalosch, Martin Mahlke and Carsten Rinka conducted the ceremony and cut the symbolic ribbon together with the architect and site manager.

Technology exhibition

In a technology exhibition, technical experts presented various solutions for the software defined vehicle (SdV). For example, they demonstrated how artificial intelligence can increase safety in the vehicle. Visitors were also able to find out why cell phone holders – thanks to the AI-based tools developed by the HMI experts – will soon be superfluous in the vehicle. During the presentation of the Side-Window-Entertainment, the engineers were able to show how everyday driving can become an experience. When testing the Battery Slot Machine, visitors were able to simulate model-based battery cells and systems.

More innovative strength and productivity

The new building pools IAV's strengths in Baden-Württemberg and serves as a platform for even more innovative power and productivity. It houses agile workstations, an EMC hall and HV test benches.

Opening ceremony

On the day of the opening, customers, partners and IAV employees had the opportunity to exchange ideas on site and view the new premises. Entertainment was provided by a soccer breakdance show and music from a DJ.

“The building is a real statement. The photovoltaic system and the heating via heat pumps show: This is our most modern IAV site in Germany.”

Martin MahlkeCFO at IAV

Sustainable concept

The Heimsheim site was designed according to the KfW 55 energy efficiency standard and has a photovoltaic system, a green roof and heat pump-based heating and cooling technology.

Office space for 370 employees

With space for a total of 370 employees, this new office offers a modern and sustainable workplace. In future, innovative solutions will be developed for and with customers in Heimsheim.
