Start-up with campus spirit

As a spin-off of the Technical University of Berlin in 1983, IAV is one of the first start-ups in Germany. We have retained our curiosity and campus spirit for over forty years.

Martin Mahlke became CFO of IAV in July 2023.

Martin has a degree in physics and has held various positions in Finance within the Volkswagen Group since 1991.

From 2003 to 2006, he was CFO and member of the Board of Management at VW Navarra in Pamplona/Spain, where he was responsible for the European production of the VW Polo. He then returned to Group Controlling as Head of the Controlling Value Creation Processes department. In 2010, he became Head of Group Controlling.

Since 2016, Martin has again been working internationally for VW: first as CFO of the Volkswagen brand for the North America region (USA, Canada and Mexico). From 2019, he was CFO and member of the Board of Management at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India PL in Pune/India – the company in which the activities of the Group brands in India are bundled.

Jörg Astalosch is IAV’s CEO since October 2023.

Jörg began his career at the Volkswagen Group in Wolfsburg in 1988, initially in Procurement and later in staff functions for the Executive Board and Supervisory Board.

From 2004 to 2006, he worked for Audi in the USA and in Ingolstadt, and from 2012 to 2014 as CFO at MAN. From 2015 to 2021, he was CEO of vehicle developer Italdesign in Turin, where he drove forward collaboration with OEMs and new mobility partners. He then supported M&A projects at Audi.

Jörg is a trained electronics technician and graduate engineer (FH). After his vocational training, he studied industrial engineering in Germany and completed an MBA in Spain.

Jens Pfitzinger has joined IAV as a member of the Management Board and Labor Director on September 1, 2024.

Jens was most recently Executive Vice President for Human Resources and IT at Volkswagen Group China in Beijing.

Prior to that, he held top management positions in Human Resources and Organization in the Volkswagen Group.

Jens studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
