IAV optimizes climate comfort under extreme conditions

Winter testing north of the Arctic Circle

In freezing temperatures of up to -30°C and snow-covered landscapes north of the Arctic Circle, our IAV experts have comprehensively tested and further developed the climate control systems of vehicles for a German premium OEM. The aim is to maximize thermal comfort for vehicle occupants – a crucial factor for safety and well-being.

The challenge: The vehicle cabin must be heated quickly, efficiently, and as quietly as possible, while the windows remain clear at all times. To achieve this, we precisely adjust numerous parameters to a wide range of conditions. Our more than 20 years of experience in the development and calibration of interior climate systems guarantees the highest quality.

A current example: Through targeted optimizations in a plug-in hybrid, we were able to adjust the anti-fogging function so that the desired comfort temperature is reached around eight minutes faster – while reducing energy consumption.

Even under changing climatic conditions, such as during tests in the Alps, we ensure that driving comfort and safety are guaranteed at all times. We are already preparing heat tests in the Mediterranean region for the coming summer months in order to offer optimal solutions even at high temperatures.

IAV ensures that climate comfort in vehicles is a matter of course worldwide – for relaxed and safe mobility in every season.
