IAV Primula
Challenge
With powerful quantum computers expected to become commercially available within the next five to ten years, cryptographic methods currently in use—such as RSA and elliptic curves—will lose their security guarantees. For long-lived embedded systems—particularly in the automotive sector—this creates an urgent need for action, as control units, keys, and communication mechanisms must remain secure for many years. Classical cryptography is reaching its limits here, while hardware support for post-quantum cryptography is not yet available in upcoming generations of microcontrollers.
The IAV Solution
IAV Primula is a software solution for post-quantum cryptography in embedded systems. The product provides quantum-secure cryptographic algorithms in a MISRA-C-compliant implementation and makes them available for use in a systematic and AUTOSAR-compliant manner. Primula thus enables the early protection of safety-critical systems against future quantum attacks and provides long-term investment and planning security.
