The collaboration represents an important milestone in IAV’s continued international growth and highlights the company’s ability to bring proven automotive expertise into diverse mobility applications. By combining local customer proximity with the capabilities of its global engineering network, IAV supports customers worldwide in addressing complex technical challenges and advancing vehicle development.

Marcopolo is a leading Brazilian bus manufacturer with a broad portfolio ranging from city buses and intercity coaches to long-distance buses and microbuses. Its vehicles serve public transportation systems and mobility providers around the globe.

For IAV, the partnership opens the door to one of South America’s most important mobility segments. Across large parts of the continent, buses play a vital role in connecting cities, regions, and communities over vast distances. As a result, manufacturers face particularly high demands in areas such as vehicle performance, efficiency, reliability, thermal management, and operational durability.

The initial scope of the collaboration focuses on powertrain engineering, one of IAV’s core technology domains alongside Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). IAV is currently supporting Marcopolo in the areas of internal combustion and electric powertrain applications as well as cooling system application and development.

“Being selected by Marcopolo is a strong endorsement of our engineering capabilities and a testament to the strength of our global organization,” says Michael Schreiber, Managing Director of IAV Brazil. “By combining local customer proximity with expertise from across the IAV network, we can deliver tailored solutions that help our customers master complex technical challenges and accelerate product development.”

The collaboration demonstrates how local market presence and global engineering excellence work hand in hand to create value for customers. At the same time, it reinforces IAV’s position as a trusted Tech Solutions Provider for mobility companies worldwide and highlights the growing demand for engineering expertise beyond traditional automotive applications.
