IAV Fahrzeugsicherheit GmbH & Co. KG, a wholly owned subsidiary of IAV GmbH, offers automotive manufacturers a comprehensive package: it develops the safety of the entire vehicle through the systemic integration of modern sensor technology, safety electronics, and restraint systems. With your thesis (bachelor's degree), you will support the introduction of low-code automation to reduce manual processes.

 

Your Tasks:

  • You analyze programs and checklists in terms of technical structure, data formats, and automatability.

  • You examine the existing DCMS system landscape, including available APIs, database, and file interfaces.

  • You will design a low-code automation flow (e.g., with n8n) for data extraction, processing, and output.
  • You will select suitable low-code tools and external services (e.g., OCR, web APIs) and evaluate them from a technical perspective.
  • You will implement the automation, including API connection, data processing, and reporting, in prototype form.
  • You will evaluate the solution in terms of integration, maintainability, performance, and scalability from a technical perspective.
  • You will document technical findings, limitations, and optimization potential as a basis for decision-making for implementation.

Necessary Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, business informatics, or a comparable field of study
  • Interest in complex interrelationships
  • Independent and methodical approach to work
  • Interest in vehicle safety
  • Good written and spoken English skills (at least B2 level)

Desired Skills:

  • Technical knowledge: Understanding of automation technologies (e.g., low codes (n8n)), basic knowledge of SQL, APIs, or web technologies is an advantage.

  • Programming skills: Object-oriented programming in programming languages such as Python, C++, and possibly TypeScript, which are frequently used in automation to implement automation solutions.

  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and identify and solve problems.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in teams to achieve common goals.

  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.

  • Innovation skills: Ability to develop creative solutions to automation problems.

 

Remuneration is based on our collective bargaining agreement. The current monthly salary for this position is EUR 979.
