IAV Wins Sustainability Award Automotive 2026

SwarmIQ Charge & Load by IAV has been awarded the Sustainability Award Automotive 2026 in the category Mobility Concepts. The award, presented by the ATZ/MTZ Group and Arthur D. Little, recognizes solutions that make a measurable contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through practical, scalable implementation. The award ceremony took place during the specialist conference ATZlive Electric Powertrains and Energy Systems in Frankfurt am Main.

Intelligent charging management for everyday fleet operations

SwarmIQ Charge & Load enables electromobility in daily operations. The cloud-based charging and load management system supports operators of electric vehicle fleets in coordinating charging processes intelligently, reducing energy costs, and ensuring vehicle availability at all times.
The solution combines software expertise, systems understanding, and sustainability considerations in one integrated application. By controlling charging processes in a grid-friendly and predictive manner, SwarmIQ Charge & Load contributes to resilient fleet operation and cost-efficient electrification at scale.
The project is led by Michael Gröschel, Head of Digital Solutions for Mobility at IAV, and was developed across organizational and disciplinary boundaries in close collaboration with partners, including StreetScooter GmbH.

Contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

SwarmIQ Charge & Load contributes directly to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing scalable, electrified mobility solutions for fleet operations based on intelligent charging and resilient energy management.
“This award demonstrates that we are actively implementing the SDGs, including SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy and SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities,” emphasizes Daniela Seller from the IAV Sustainability Team.
By enabling efficient use of energy, reducing peak loads, and supporting the integration of renewable energy sources, SwarmIQ Charge & Load contributes to put SDGs into operational reality.
The Sustainability Award Automotive 2026 underscores IAV’s approach of combining technological expertise, system-level thinking, and practical implementation to enable sustainable mobility in real-world applications.
