What is Swarm IQ Ride & Move?

IAV Swarm IQ Ride & Move is an on-demand transportation service that helps our customers plan, analyze, and digitize their transportation services according to demand. One challenge in setting up such transportation services is planning and establishing on-demand transportation in line with the existing structure and managing its operation. With the flexible Swarm IQ Ride & Move mobility platform, on-demand local transportation can be planned, set up, and put into operation quickly and easily. The open-source platform consists of several easy-to-use components that provide you with efficient support in this process.

The admin panel is the central control center for managing the mobility service. Among other things, it allows you to:

  • Set up stops
  • Define operating hours
  • Manage vehicles and users
  • Send push notifications to users
  • Record road closures

These functions not only lead to higher customer satisfaction thanks to a better-developed digital mobility network, but also reduce costs through efficient planning of route networks and departure times.

IAV has set itself the goal of contributing to sustainable mobility services with its Swarm IQ Ride & Move mobility platform, which can be used in as many different ways as possible. Public funding for such transport services is often conditional on the source code of the software solutions used and, where applicable, adapted being made available as open source. We support this by publishing our solution. At the same time, our open source approach aims to make functional enhancements to our solution available to other municipalities for individual users. We incorporate such enhancements into the mobility platforms we operate for individual municipalities in a timely manner if requested by the respective municipality.

The mobility platform consists of the following components: In the admin panel, stops, vehicles, and their operating times are set up via a user interface. Contact details and user accounts can be managed, and individual bookings can be viewed and controlled. Together with you, we adapt the app design to your needs. In the next step, the passenger app is distributed via the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The trip is booked directly via the Swarm IQ Ride & Move app. Passenger requests are bundled here and route planning is intelligently controlled. In the app for drivers, drivers can see upcoming tours, the stops to be served soon, and, if necessary, can also contact passengers directly. The routing algorithm integrated into the system calculates the extent to which users’ mobility needs can be combined and trips can be completed jointly in some cases. The advantage: users do not have to do anything else, and the efficiency of the on-demand transport service is automatically increased.

The concept is designed so that trips can also be booked by telephone. Alternatively, the passenger app can also be made available as a web version, for example on a large monitor. We would be happy to support you and contribute our experience.
