What is Ready2Test?
The complexity of automotive technology is steadily growing. What is the perfect combination of design, ergonomics, tactility and quality? How can mobility and communication be fused? What will the operating concept of the future look like? To help us answer these questions, we need to involve primarily car drivers and fans in the development process. That’s why IAV has launched Ready2Test.
Do I have to meet any particular criteria?
You don’t have to be an expert on cars. If you’re willing to try out something new and you’re keen to get your head around questions of technology, you’ve come to the right place in Ready2Test. Anybody 18 or older can join in whether or not they have a driving licence.
How does it work?
If test subjects are needed for a particular user test, IAV will send invitations by email to persons who fit the profile. If you are selected, you will have to be present at IAV for a few hours. You might be asked to take part in an online test, a classic questionnaire or even a test in a vehicle. The use of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) is particularly exciting. For example, you can experience simulated driving situations or test a new heads-up display.
We will naturally pay you for your commitment by way of thank-you.

A study is being prepared. Our tool automatically looks for suitable candidates based on the completed profiles.
You will be informed by e-mail if you are eligible for a study. There is more information about the study on the online portal.
Here you can let us know that you are interested in taking part in the study.
You will be informed if you have been admitted to the study. It's time to choose a date.
Date and details: we will of course treat your personal details as strictly confidential. If you do not want them to be saved, they will be deleted again after the study.
The date will be confirmed after your details have been checked.
We will meet here at our site on the agreed date.
Once the study has finished, the remuneration will be transferred to your account at the end of the month.

How can I participate in a study?
The more information is stored in your profile, the more likely it is you are being considered for a new study. If for a new study we look for candidates that match your profile you are being invited. You can either accept that invitation and register for a study or decline it.

How do I unsubscribe from a study?
Please always make sure that you actually have the time to participate in your selected time slot for a study. Of course it can always happen that unforeseen events occur during your chosen timeslot. In that case you can either change your timeslot or cancel it in your profile under the heading “registered”. You can also write an e-mail to ready2test@iav.de or use the contact form at the right side on the Start screen.

How do I receive my compensation?
Your compensation will be transferred into your referenced bank account at the end of the month you took part in the study. In case the study series takes place at the end of a month, you may receive your compensation in the following month.

How frequent will e-mails be? Will I be flooded by them?
No, don’t worry. We do not send newsletters. Only invitations to studies or important system messages will be sent to you. How many invitations you receive depends, for example, on how much information you have filled in your profile. If you are only interested in certain studies it is recommended to only fill out the questions below the respective heading. However if you want to participate in as many studies as possible it is recommended to fill in as many information as possible. If you do not want to be contacted for studies you can uncheck the box “I would like to receive future invitations to studies.” at the right side on the starting page.

How can I delete my account?
You can delete your account at any time in your profile. Please note that all stored data will be deleted irreversibly. If you only want to take a break, simply remove the consent to receive study invitations on the right-hand side of the home page.

What is being tested?
There are no limits to your imagination and the future of tomorrow’s mobility holds many exciting things. Our main focus is on the car and the user, the experience and smart assistants in the vehicle. This makes it all the more important for engineers to be able to obtain user feedback from precisely defined customer groups during development work – especially when it comes to topics relating to the usability and operability of new concepts and functions. This is why IAV has created its pool of test persons

What are these tests?
Don’t worry, they’re not medical lab tests. Nevertheless, we put them through their paces, for example in a vehicle or in the IAV light hall. Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are playing an increasingly important role, especially in the development of display and operating systems. Test persons can also experience simulated driving situations in a mockup car and, for example, test a new head-up display.

Friends / acquaintances are also interested, can I bring these?
We are looking forward to every participant. Please tell your family, friends and acquaintances that they can register at https://probandenpool.iav.com/login and will then be selected for testing. Unfortunately bringing them along spontaneously does not work, because requirements for the tests might not be met.

I am unable to work at short notice, what do I have to do?
Something like this can always happen. Please cancel us in good time as soon as it is foreseeable for you. You do not have to worry about a replacement.

Do I have to pay for the journey?
Travel expenses cannot be refunded. But you will receive an appropriate compensation for participating in a study.

Am I insured during a test?
All our test persons are insured with us for the duration of your test.
