Award-winning! – Electrical parts kit from IAV wins ATZ Sustainability Award
A fine accolade for IAV: The Berlin-based tech solution provider has received the “Sustainability Award in Automotive” from the ATZ/MTZ Group and management consultants Arthur D. Little for developing a modular e-parts set for commercial vehicles.
With the electric-drive parts kit, conventional diesel-powered commercial vehicles can be converted to locally emission-free electric vehicles. The old drive axle is removed and replaced by an electric axle module and a battery system.
The e-parts kit was developed by IAV with the support of partners. The innovative technology solution helps to decarbonize public transport to some extent, is cheaper than buying a new vehicle and makes an important contribution to sustainable mobility.
The retrofit approach saves primary raw materials as well as the CO2 emissions of a new vehicle production and reduces energy consumption. Guided by the basic idea of effective resource conservation, we are opening new life cycles (“second life”) for existing vehicles with the e-parts set and, thus, support a circular economy.
The “Sustainability Award in Automotive” from ATZ/MTZ and Arthur D. Little honours companies that develop sustainable mobility solutions. IAV won the award in the category Technology with a focus on Circular Economy.
